Nearly five hundred people, both photographers and non-photographers alike attended Soothill Hall, Ashville College for a lively and entertaining presentation by Amanda Owen, shepherdess, hill farmer, best selling author, photographer and mother of nine.

Amanda’s photographs and accompanying dialogue gave everyone a great insight into the life she and her family lead on their remote Ravenseat farm, high on the Swaledale fells. Her presentation portrayed the remoteness and beauty of the landscape through the seasons, as well as the hardships and pleasures of life on the fells. Her photographs, humorous and often touching dialogue also conveyed a strong sense of family and the unconventional freedom enjoyed by her children.

A most enjoyable evening concluded with Amanda signing copies of her latest book Adventures of the Yorkshire Shepherdess for her enthusiastic following.
