I joined Harrogate Photographic Society in 2008 and realised that, for over 40 years, I had just been taking holiday snaps. Fortunately, when taking slides, I had already been taking some care over composition!
My approach is to find any interesting image and then see what can be done with it – using alternative crops, formats, filters and effects – influenced by some great photography presented at HPS Monday evening meetings.
Now at least the holiday snaps are getting more interesting! The ones below are from a recent holiday in the Southern Lake District, including an evening stroll around Tarn Hows. Some have been converted to monochrome and some enhanced using HDR software.
