Katrina Brayshaw

I am a landscape photographer so it follows that I love nothing better than being in remote and wild places.

My favourite locations are Scotland, The Hebrides, Torridon, and Sutherland where the weather patterns can present formidable challenges at any time of the year. That is the exciting part, waiting for and attempting to capture the elusive light!

My images are fairly minimalist and idiosyncratic of my own emotional feelings for the subject. It’s the intimate part of the landscape with its textures and patterns that I try to find. I like to make pictures from things that others may not have seen. I try to find the soul of what I am photographing.

I do very little manipulation of my images. For me the thrill is to get the picture in camera, to as close as possible to how I saw it at the moment of capture.
