The HPS

The Harrogate Photographic Society was founded in 1922 and exists to further the skills, interest and enjoyment for all photographers from beginners to those with experience. The programme contains a range of illustrated talks and demonstrations, many given by visiting experts. It runs from September 2008 to April 2009. In addition a number of outings will be arranged in the summer months.

Meetings are held on Monday evenings throughout the season. They start at 7:30pm and finish around 9:30pm. All meetings take place at the Friend's Meeting Hall in Homestead Road, Harrogate http://www.multimap.com/maps/?zoom=16&countryCode=GB&qs=HG15PP

All with an interest in photography are welcome and we aim to keep our meetings lively and stimulating. Those newer to photography or perhaps to the newer digital technology will find that help and guidance is readily available from other members.

In addition to the meetings three groups exist where members can discuss their own work, learn about other members' techniques, and discuss problems and solutions to improve photographic skills. The three groups are the Print Folio, the Slide Folio, and IMAGinE (a digital imaging group). These Groups each meet approximately monthly, operating informally and follow a programme to match Group members' interests.
